Date Specific Notes :
Please Avoid:
NO bright whites, neon colors, or modern/high-contrast patterns (e.g. tight stripes, polka dots, gingham)
NO visible logos, sports team gear, or large graphic tees
NO current-day fashion brands or trends — we are filming a scene set in SUMMER 2001, and everything should feel accurate to that time period

Bring an additional 4 full head-to-toe options (clean and camera-ready).
If you have tattoos, please bring clothing that fully covers them. We cannot feature tattoos without prior approval. If you have designed your tattoos or know the artist and could get a release signed, reach out to Heather from casting. We will need the signed release in order to show your tattoos.
Fishermen:
You’ll be portraying fishermen returning from a long, hot day at sea. You’re salty, sun-worn, and have spent hours under the blazing sun. Your look should reflect a day of hard work — function over fashion.
Wardrobe Suggestions:
Sun-faded tees, tank tops, or short-sleeve button-ups
Lightweight long-sleeve fishing shirts
Cargo or utility shorts, washed 90's straight leg denim, weathered khakis
Broken-in baseball caps, trucker hats, bucket hats, visors
Deck shoes, old 90's sneakers, sandals (no modern logos or flashy brands, keep it classic)
Belts and accessories — many men tucked in shirts during this era, so please complete your look
Color Palette:
Sun-bleached neutrals, pastels, tropical hues, faded blues, washed-out greens, khaki, tan
Fabrics should feel worn-in and breathable — cotton, canvas, linen blends
Optional Accessories (if you own):
90's/Y2K sunglasses, bandanas, appropriate watches (NO CELL PHONES OR APPLE WATCHES)
Boaters / Tourists:
You’re coming in from a casual summer day at sea — hot, slightly windblown, and sun-kissed. You may be a local or a visitor enjoying the Florida sunshine, but either way, your outfit should reflect a practical, relaxed, early 2000s/late '90s coastal style. This look is not sleek and modern — think slightly kitschy, laid-back, and effortlessly summery.
Florida Tourist Style in 1990s–Early 2000s:
For Women:
Low-rise shorts or skirts, board shorts, or cotton capris
Spaghetti-strap tank tops, halter tops, cropped tees, or ribbed knit tops
Sarongs, mesh cover ups, tropical print dresses
Flip-flops, slip-on sandals, canvas ked-like sneakers, boat shoes
Straw visors, shell jewelry, scrunchies, 90's/Y2K sunglasses
Tropical pastels, sun-faded brights, beachy prints, hibiscus prints, gradient tie-dye, baby blue, coral, butter yellow
For Men:
Tank tops, ribbed undershirts (worn as outerwear), short-sleeve Hawaiian shirts
Loose cargo shorts, denim shorts, drawstring beach pants, swim trunks
Canvas broken in baseball hats, trucker hats, bucket hats, wraparound sunglasses (Oakley-style), sporty wristwatches
Popular colors included burnt orange, hunter green, navy, and tropical florals
Deck shoes, 90's chunky sneaker with tube socks pushed down, flip flops (no modern logos or flashy brands, keep it classic)
Time Period Reminder:
The year is 2001 — think early Y2K and late '90s, not present-day styles. Avoid anything that looks too current, trendy, or overly polished. We want authenticity — something that feels like it came from a closet in 1999, not a modern-day online cart.
MOOD + INSPIRATION BOARDS: *Remember to stay clear of GRAPHICS and LARGE LOGOS*
